"While in the middle of rpm scale I give throttle. The result is very little acceleration"---This is definitely a failure for the carburetor to open up. Like I said before failure of the air slide and jet needle to lift. When (after a while) it does lift there is no problem at higher RPM.

This problem usually occurs when trying to make an acceleration change going up a hill, or against the wind, in a passing situation. The carb. looses vacuum on a sharp throttle opening, while the engine is under load! It does not happen with a sharp throttle opening with no engine load, such as when going DOWN a HILL!
